I have been working as a ceramicist for 25 years which has allowed me to hone in and find my specialist area within this varied and exciting medium. I get the most enjoyment and fulfilment through intricate detailing and refinement of the clay form. The main body and structure of my clay building is through coiling, enabling the maximum control and fluidity of shape. I embellish my pots using various decorative techniques such as sprig moulding, modelling and carving, coloured slips and lustres.

The main inspiration for my latest body of work has come from Wedgewood’s ‘Panther Vase’ and Elvis Presley. Both of which are iconic, kitsch and glamourous. My work portrays a ‘nod’ to the two in equal measures. Incorporating Elvis’ elaborate Gracelandmansion to his adorned 70’s Vegas stage jumpsuits and gold shades mixed with the technically beautiful and opulent Wedgewood vase, my work justifiably brings the two together in aesthetic harmony.
